1) Our annual Secret Santa exchange has started up and the list for it is up on the ASC board to the left right when you enter the sandbox! All you need to do is write your name and favorite character on the sheet. The deadline for signing up is this coming Friday, and after that you'll all be given your member to do a drawing for. We want to stress the point that it doesn't have to be elaborate and that if you sign up you have to make your drawing. If you don't that member you had will be upset they didn't get one and we definitely don't want that!
2) This weeks meeting we will be having the very talented Rafael Rosado here to tell us about his experiences in the industry as well as show us his method of storyboarding! He has storyboarded for numerous television shows such as The Venture Brothers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Men in Black: The Series, and Transformers Prime! So make sure to mark your calendars for this meeting!
3) The stop motion labs are up and running finally! If you want to work in them though you have to contact Tracy Robbins. She will send you a proposal paper to fill out that will allow you to reserve the space and equipment for all of your stop motion needs!
This week in the collective we had a character animation tutorial led by Kevin Harkness and William Oglesby. We were all given a rundown of the tools in Maya, how to create keyframes, the differences between inverse and forward kinematics, and how to use the graph editor. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone animate their rigged model in various ways!
See you all this Friday!
