And my second link is just a helpful website that I'm interested in trying out myself. Apparently it will help you sleep better, and let's face it, who among us at CCAD doesn't need BETTER SLEEP? Basically it tells you when to wake up based on when you go to bed, and how many sleep cycles you will get. When you wake up you will feel rested and refreshed. So let's all try it together and see what happens! lol

Link of the Week
It's Bethany again, here to give you your links of the week. This week I have 2 links. The first link will take you to a Tumblr that belongs to a 17 year old who completed his internship with Disney during the summer of 2011. 17 years old! We're all jealous. Let's all look at his art and learn from him! HE'S GREAT!

Link of the Week!
Bekah here, bringing you the link of the week!
The blog name is a little misleading, since it's mostly illustrative art that goes up, but this blog is an excellent source of inspiration and broadening your knowledge of both big and small name artists!
It's really active and always links the name of the artist and their site; so if you see something you like, you can follow up on it.
If I'm stuck for ideas, I always check this site out. It gets my brain movin'! :)
Meeting Recap, 03/09/12
Hey guys!
We hope everyone found our meeting on Resumes, Cover Letters, and Interviews extremely helpful. I know it got a little long winded there. ;)
Here are the two handouts we passed out during the meeting:
Career Services Packet
Page 1: A list of upcoming Career Services events! Very helpful.
Page 2: Resume example
Page 3: Words to use when writing a resume
Page 4: Cover letter example
Pages 5-8: Helpful books that Career Services offers!
ASC Packet
Page 1: Intro
Pages 2-9: Helpful Hints and Tips
Page 10: Charlotte's notes on writing resumes
Page 11: A helpful resume flowchart by Charlotte
Page 12: Resume example
And a few general notes:
- Remember, everything is subjective. What works for one job may not work for another. There are no "right" answers. Cater your resume and cover letter for a specific job and go with your gut! Get lots of opinions from peers and faculty.
- Keep in mind the difference between a resume and a CV. A CV is a comprehensive list of all of your achievements in reverse chronological order, while a resume is the best of the best. Some studios prefer one over the other.
- Get lots of eyes to look at your resume. Read it out loud. This will help catch typos!
- Be knowledgeable about the job you're applying for! It takes several minutes to look up a website and skim over the contents, and it could really pay off during an interview.
Thanks everyone! Enjoy your Spring Break! We won't be meeting on the 16th or 23rd, but come ready to learn on the 30th. Andy will be giving a demo on puppets in Harmony!

Meeting Recap, 03/02/12
Hey guys!
Quick Note: This is a reminder that Rafael Rosado will be the visiting artist on April 9th at 11AM in Canzani. He's is currently doing freelance work at Universal Cartoon Studios, working as storyboard artist at Hasbro/Woodbridge, and artist/co-creator at First Second Books. We highly recommend everyone attend!
Rafael has a new book coming out April 10th! Watch the trailer here! The faculty would like to see about ordering copies of the book in advance, so that they would be available for purchase at his talk. It would be an EXCELLENT opportunity to discuss the book with the artist himself and even get it signed! How cool is that??
If anyone is interested in picking up a copy, please let one of the leaders know!! There's more info on the Facebook page. :)
At our meeting this week, we went to go see The Secret World of Arrietty! :)
