Link of the Week!

Hi everybody!
Everybody!

Sarah here, bringing you the link-of-the-week. This is my first link-of-the-week this year, and I had some trouble picking just one... so I decided to pick a theme: awesome, alternative, web-based cartoon studios - something I get super pumped about.

This summer was the first time I personally dived back into the glory that is web-based animation (since the golden years of Homestar Runner, of course). Being an avid "lets-put-my-animations-on-Youtube-whenever-because-I-can" type of girl, I was very interested in how far one can get on Youtube alone.

Crazy thing seems to be, if you aren't aware of it, cartoons don't just exist on the TV, made by big animation head-honchos - a lot of them are just a few clicks away. Tons of animators, just like you and me, get to do this type of thing for a living!

Here's some of the current coolest places to find animation on the internet.

1 - Animation Domination High-Definition

This stuff is made all in-house and not only fronts a huge, whacky wave of animation-based web content, but also can be seen for an hour block every Saturday at 11pm on Fox. Check out tons of crazy shorts and even more GIFS (including a handy tool that helps you turn any of their clips into your own GIFS).

2 - Cartoon Hangover

The home of epics such as Pendleton Ward's Bravest Warriors, Cartoon Hangover is basically the TV channel you wish existed - existing in the world that is YouTube. It was birthed from the awesome brain that is Frederator - who've produced things such as The Fairly Odd Parents, Adventure Time, and tons of other cartoons.

3 - Titmouse + Six Point Harness = Rugburn

Some of you Animation buffs might be familiar with Titmouse (Metalocalypse, Superjail!, and The Venture Brothers), and maybe you've heard of Six Point Harness (Tom Hank’s Electric City, El Tigre, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!). What happens, you ask, when two great studios fuse together? An awesome channel is born.

Hope you all enjoyed my blog post! Do you have any favorite places to find animation on the internet?

Have a great week!
Sarah
